HHA Tetra Sight Review
The HHA Tetra single-pin sight has been hands-down the best sight I have ever used. As someone who predominantly hunts whitetails in the Midwest, I was hesitant at first on moving from my fixed 5-pin sight to the HHA Tetra single-pin. I was used to having all my pins set at 10-yard intervals out to 60 yards. Looking back, I’m glad I made the switch.
The HHA Tetra provides all of the features of a premium sight along with the quality you would expect. When I first shot this sight on my Mathews Vertix, I immediately felt more confident. The ability to dial in the sight to the exact yardage is very convenient. This combined with the small pin diameter provides precision accuracy. I went from just shooting at targets, to being able to pick out a precise spot on the target.
Not only did the HHA Tetra increase my accuracy at close and mid-range, it also gave me more confidence at long-range shooting, far beyond what I would ever hunt at. I always prefer practicing at longer ranges because it emphasizes my mistakes. With this sight, I was able to reliably hit a paper plate at 100 yards.
After putting this sight through two full Illinois public land bow seasons, it continues to work like the day I bought it. Many trips to and from my tree stand in all types of weather including snow and temperatures in the teens, this sight definitely holds up to the test. The only thing I had to replace was the felt arrow rest pad that eventually wore out. I couldn’t find a replacement so I contacted HHA and they send me a new one for free.
I would be lying if I said using this sight didn’t take some time to get used to. As with any serious bowhunter, limiting movement in the stand, especially when a deer is approaching is crucial. It took me some time to get used to adjusting the yardage dial with a deer coming in. It helps being able to anticipate where the deer will go and what shot opportunity you will have while adjusting your dial and attaching your release. Although sometimes difficult to do, this minor challenge is minimal to the benefits of this sight.
Overall, the HHA Sports Tetra single-pin sight is a great choice for anyone who is looking to upgrade their bow setup with a quality sight. This fun sight has made me a better shot by increasing my accuracy and confidence.
